BoI appoints new UK syndications head

Bank of Ireland has recruited Peter Mullen from Société Générale in the UK, where he was director of loan syndications.

The appointment has been made in light of the bank’s intention to establish a new London-based syndications team, headed by Mr Mullen, whose appointment is effective from May 2006.

Mr Mullen has extensive knowledge of the syndications market, having spent eight years working for Société Générale in London and New York.

Prior to that, he was with Chase Manhattan, based in London.

Bank of Ireland Corporate Banking chief executive Tom Hayes said: “We are delighted to have attracted a candidate of Peter's calibre and experience.

“His appointment represents a significant stage in the strategic development of our acquisition finance business and confirms our long-term commitment to this important market.

“Peter's arrival will significantly enhance our origination and distribution capability across Europe, which was recently boosted by the establishment of offices in Paris and Frankfurt”.
