The ISEQ index of shares has started the day in the red, down 20.53 points to 7937.29 in early trading.
All of the financials suffered. AIB was the worst hit, losing 14c to €19.14. Bank of Ireland was down 13c to €15.12, Irish Life & Permanent lost 12c to stand at €18.28, while Anglo Irish slid 11c to €13.58.
