UTV and Elan contribute to ISEQ slip
The ISEQ fell 16.15 points to 7934.68 by 10.30am today.
Shares in Ulster Television fell 22c (3.4%) to €6.20.
Elan slipped 20c (1.6%) to €12.25.
Anglo Irish Bank fell 17c (1.2%) to €13.53. Allied Irish Bank (AIB) was 13c in the red at €19.34.
AIB was the morning’s busiest share and its investment management arm announced today that its European Property Stocks Fund has generated a return of almost 39% in less than one year of operation.
Irish Life and Permanent gained 5c to €18.40, while Bank of Ireland (BoI) was unchanged at €15.25. BoI was today naming the student winners of cash prizes in the bank’s Live Rent Free promotion.
CRH gained 4c to €27.79, while Grafton slipped 1c to €10.51.
Eircom was unchanged at €2.17, despite Babcock and Brown’s announcement yesterday that it had upped its stake in the telecom to 28.8%.
