Woolworths hit by contract loss

British retailer Woolworths revealed today that its wholesale distribution arm had lost a contract to supply Tesco with DVDs, music and games products.

Woolworths warned in January that the tie-up may not be renewed, but those fears were realised yesterday when Tesco advised subsidiary Entertainment UK (EUK) that it would not continue with the contract beyond April 2007.
