Stock exchange value soars as City banks on bidding war
The value of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) soared today as the City banked on a bidding war following an approach from United States operator Nasdaq.
Shares in LSE were up by almost a quarter to 1090p – adding more than £500m (€730m) to its value – after details of the 950p proposal from Nasdaq emerged on Friday night.
