Sage expands in Dublin
Software firm Sage is to expand its operations in Dublin.
The UK software company is to establish an international localisation centre and European data centre at its existing operation in Ballsbridge, Dublin, with the support of IDA Ireland.
The expansion will create 40 jobs, over 80% requiring third level qualifications in software, engineering, localisation and IT networking.
The Sage Group develops and distributes a full range of accountancy, payroll, customer relationship management (CRM) software and business management products and services for businesses and practice management solutions for accountants
Sage has two subsidiaries in Dublin: Sage Ireland, at Citywest, which develops, markets and supports products and services for Irish customers and employs 200 people, and Sage Technologies Ltd., at Ballsbridge, which develops CRM software applications and employs 40 people.
The new localisation centre will serve customers in Europe and the US, while the European Data Centre will be a disaster recovery site and will host mission critical IT infrastructure for its US and European subsidiaries.
The data centre will also host current and future Sage web based applications such as Sage CRM, Coretime and Line 50.
