IFA mounts protest outside Greencore AGM in Dublin
The Irish Farmers Association has mounted a protest outside the annual general meeting of Greencore's board of directors in Dublin today.
The protest is linked to the recent EU sugar reforms that caused the company to close its sugar factory in Carlow last year.
Greencore is seeking EU compensation for the move, but the IFA wants the compensation to go to beet-growers who are set to lose their livelihoods.
