Music retailer tunes into offer

An online retailer which tapped into the demand for music-inspired fashion was sold today in a deal worth £1.5m (€2.2m).

EverythingButTheMusic.com (EBTM) sells licensed clothes such as t-shirts and other clothing for 150 bands from The Rolling Stones and The Beatles to new groups such as The Kaiser Chiefs and Hard-Fi.

Founded in April last year, EBTM also stocks accessories, jewellery, bags and posters as well as fashion brands such as Vans and CBGB which had tapped into the music scene.

Among those on the new board will be Quentin Griffiths, a founding director of ASOS – the online fashion store which is among the UK’s fastest growing retailers. He is currently a director of web consultancy E-retail, which is buying EBTM through the issue of new shares.
