Insurer passes new business milestone

Strong demand for savings-based products drove annual new business figures from British insurer Legal & General above the £1bn (€1.5bn) mark today.

The group described 2005 as a “year of remarkable growth” as the new business figure of £1.19bn (€1.7bn) for the UK represented a 32% gain on a year earlier.
