Knock Airport passenger numbers up 42% last year

Knock Airport has reported strong growth for 2005, with the number of passengers using the Co Mayo facility up 42% during the year.

The airport authorities said 530,000 passengers passed through their doors last year, compared to around 375,000 in 2004.

They also said the number of scheduled routes available from Knock increased by 34%, while charter business had almost trebled since 2002.
