ISEQ down despite Thirdforce gains

E-learning company Thirdforce saw the value of their shares jump 2c to 30c today, over 7%, following its announcement that its revenues, which had fallen in the first six months of 2005, recovered in the second half of the year.

E-learning company Thirdforce saw the value of their shares jump 2c to 30c today, over 7%, following its announcement that its revenues, which had fallen in the first six months of 2005, recovered in the second half of the year.

In a trading statement this morning, the company says it now expects to report full year revenues of €12.6m, up 5% on 2004 with the help of a partial contribution from Creative Learning Media.

However, it says that operating profits for the full year will be substantially lower.

However, the ISEQ index failed to reflect these gains as it fell back 34.52 points to 7424.78.

Pharmaceutical company Elan again saw its share price plummet. It fell 51c to €11.65, over 4%.

CRH also had a bad day, down 44c to €25.33.

The financial heavyweights also recorded losses. AIB and Anglo Irish both lost 2c to close at €17.90 and €12.78 respectively. Bank of Ireland was down 5c to €13.50, while Irish Life & Permanent was down 2c to €17.10.

Today's most traded shares were Irish Life & Permanent, AIB, Anglo Irish, CRH and Bank of Ireland.
