Dixons and Currys owner DSG International celebrated a “digital Christmas” today after sales surged on the back of demand for high-tech gift items.

The company said like-for-like sales at Dixons rose by 8% and Currys by 3% as both chains enjoyed a respite from difficult trading conditions.
