Health and beauty retailer Boots said today it made good progress over Christmas after achieving underlying sales growth of 0.3%.

Boots, which is in the process of completing a £7bn (€10.1bn) merger with Alliance UniChem, said its core health and beauty sales categories continued to perform strongly over the final three months of the year.
