Pilkington takeover talks 'fail'

Glass maker Pilkington is preparing to issue a statement that takeover talks with its biggest shareholder have failed, it was reported today.

Pilkington has been told by bankers that a deal with Nippon Sheet Glass is not going to happen after two approaches from the Japanese firm were rebuffed, the Sunday Telegraph said.
