IBEC concerned about fall-off in Irish film production
IBEC's Audiovisual Federation has expressed concern about a recent fall-off in film production in Ireland.
In a review published today, the federation said decline in film-related business had led to a 30% decrease in spending in the audiovisual sector in 2004.
It said that, while some notable films like the Honeymooners, Breakfast on Pluto and Tara Road were produced in Ireland, the number and value of incoming international productions had fallen since 2003.
The Audiovisual Federation is seeking improvements in Ireland's tax incentives for film companies in order to address the decline.
