PDs publish proposals for Dublin Port development
The Progressive Democrats have published proposals that would see industrial activity at Dublin Port being moved north to Bremore near Balbriggan.
The party said today the move would free up 600 acres of valuable land at the existing port.
It said this land could be used for housing, offices, shops and other amenities, while the area could also be transformed into a centre for cruise-liner traffic.
The PDs said the existing port was set to run out of industrial capacity in two years, but the proposed new site at Bremore would be capable of expanding and would also have excellent transport links.
