SVP: Budget must address poverty

The charity organisation Saint Vincent de Paul has said the Minister for Finance, Brian Cowen, has a historic opportunity to break the poverty cycle in Wednesday's budget.

Figures released this morning shows tax revenue for this year has been higher than expected, giving the government two billion euros to spend.
