UK engineering firm's shares jump on takeover approach
Shares in British civil engineering firm John Laing were at their highest level in four years today following news of a potential takeover approach.
The London-based company, which runs Chiltern Railways and builds schools, hospitals and roads, said it had received an offer in a “very preliminary form”.
