ISEQ down 60 points
The ISEQ index of Irish failed to build on this week's gains as it shed 60.05 to close at 6670.93 today.
All of the finanacials were down. AIB lost 27c to close at €17.16, Anglo Irish was down 9c to €11.36, while Bank of Ireland was down 11c to €12.74. Irish Life & Permanent was also down, losing 15c to close at €15.05.
Construction company Kingspan pushed the other way, rising 13c to €10.13 while scientific diagnostic products company Trinity Biotech saw a hike of 20c to €1.60. However, CRH lost 23c to close at €21.80.
Budget airline Ryanair saw a fall of 19c to €6.96. The airline announced today that its Dublin pilots could next month each receive a windfall of about €50,000 (at current prices) if they choose to exercise their share options in the company.
The share options, which formed part of the five-year pay, benefit and share option scheme negotiated in November 2000, fall due to be exercised at the end of November.
