Violence in media more offensive than sex or bad language – BCI survey
A new survey, which was published today, claims that Irish listeners and viewers find violence more offensive than sex or bad language.
The survey also found that a quarter of the population claim they have never been offended by anything on radio or television.
It also shows that those who are offended are more likely to complain to their friends than to the broadcasters.
The survey was commissioned by the Broadcasting Commission as part of its consultation on a new code of programme standards.
