The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week on a positive note, finishing up 11.23 points to 6262.76.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares ended the week on a positive note, finishing up 11.23 points to 6262.76.

Building materials company Readymix rose 2c to €2.28 following the news that managing director Joe Doyle has resigned by mutual agreement.

The financials had mixed fortunes today. AIB rose 10c to €17.00, while Bank of Ireland also recorded an increase, up 2c to €12.65. Irish Life and Permenent fell 7c to €14.18 and Anglo Irish Bank also recorded a loss, falling 1c to €10.89.

Food company IAWS plumeted 40c to €11.00, while Kerry Group recorded one of the day's biggest increases, rising 27c to €17.42.

Bookmaker Paddy Power rose 6c to €14.11.
