Higgs resigns from AIB role

Derek Higgs has resigned as non-executive director of AIB due to his appointment as chairman of British bank, Alliance and Leicester.

Mr Higgs joined the board of AIB in November 2000. He was the author of a major British report into standards of corporate governance in 2003.
