New editor for Belfast Telegraph
The Belfast Telegraph today appointed Martin Lindsay as its new editor.
Mr Lindsay, who succeeds Edmund Curran, will take up his post after 12 years as editor of the paper’s sister title, Sunday Life.
Ivan Fallon, chief executive of Independent News and Media, said: “Martin Lindsay is one of the most respected and experienced journalists in the British isles today.
“He has been a brilliant editor of the Sunday Life, where he shed new light on many aspects of Northern Ireland’s society.
“He will bring great energy, effort and skills to The Belfast Telegraph where he will be a worthy successor to the incomparable Ed Curran.”
Mr Lindsay, 59, previously held a number of reporting and news editing posts at the evening paper and was Deputy Editor from 1991 until 1993.
He will become the 14th editor in the Telegraph’s 135-year history.
