315 new jobs to be created in Donegal and Athlone

Two companies have announced plans to create 315 new jobs as part of separate investments in Athlone, Co Westmeath, and Burnfoot, Co Donegal.

The electrical products manufacturer PowerBoard said it was planning to create 65 jobs at a new facility in Burnfoot.

The company said the factory would be used to design, develop and manufacture electrical products for export to European markets.

The AXA insurance firm, meanwhile, is planning to create 250 jobs at a new base in Athlone.
