Irish firms increase trade with Hungary by 20%

Trade between Hungary and Ireland grew by 20% last year.

The figure has risen to over €360m, with sales by Irish companies in Hungary at €150m.

Enterprise Ireland is currently running a trade mission in Hungary, lead by the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin.

The trade delegation said that in its first full year of EU membership, Hungary's integration has been smoother than expected.

The Minister said that Irish companies are keen to do business in Hungary particularly in the electronics industry, software, engineering, renewable energy and environmental services.
