Training scheme set up to help family firms survive

The Chamber of Commerce of Ireland has expressed concern about the high rate of failure in family businesses.

The organisation said such firms account for half of all jobs in Ireland, but three-quarters do not survive to a second generation.

The CCI has established a training scheme to try and reverse this trend and help business people plan ahead to ensure long-term viability.
