Permanent-TSB launches pre-paid 'disposable' credit card

Permanent-TSB is offering a new pre-paid credit card that operates in a similar way to mobile-phone top-ups.

Permanent-TSB says the product, which is a joint venture with Visa, is the world's first "disposable" credit card.

Consumers will be able to purchase the pre-paid cards in ordinary shops.

Permanent-TSB said they would be of particular benefit to the thousands of Irish people who do not purchase goods on the internet because they don't have a credit card or because of security concerns.
