Talks underway in bid to avert Dublin Airport disruption
Unions and management at the Gate Gourmet catering firm have entered talks in an effort to avert possible strike action at Dublin Airport.
The company's workers have voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action due to management's alleged refusal to grant pay increases due under the Sustaining Progress agreement.
Their union, SIPTU, has also accused Gate Gourmet of trying to change the workers' terms and conditions without agreement.
A similar dispute caused chaos at London's Heathrow Airport last week when a strike by the catering firm's staff forced British Airways to ground all its planes.
