ISEQ makes poor start to week
The ISEQ index of shares made a poor start to the week as it shed 41.60 points to close at 6697.64 today.
The financial stocks were amongst the worst hit. Bank of Ireland was down 17c at €12.96, while AIB lost 13c to close at €17.80.
Irish Life & Permanent was down 5c to €14.70 as Anglo Irish shed 4c to close at €10.96.
Others to suffer were construction companies CRH, down 17c to €22.72, and Kingspan, down 32c to €10.35.
Ormonde Mining stocks were unchanged at 13c after its announcement that full results from the initial drilling programme at the La Zarza gold-copper project in southwest Spain confirm the expected widths and grades of mineralization at the site.
Jurys saw a 15c rise to €17.70 as the takeover buzz around the group continued.
