Plans for better food deal
Fine Gael will launch plans today to get a better deal for Irish food producers.
The party unveils its A Fair Deal for Consumers – A Fair Price for Producers policy document at Tullamore Agricultural Show.
Agriculture and food spokesman Denis Naughten said: “We want to focus on improving the current position of Ireland’s food industry.
“This includes proposals on reforming the Irish food labelling regime and the formation of a single high-level food promotion body.”
Mr Naughten will be joined at the Co Offaly event by Ireland East MEPs Avril Doyle and Mairead McGuinness.
