Video rental chain Blockbuster was today nursing steep second-quarter losses, as it complained that Hollywood was producing more misses than hits.

Blockbuster, which has more than 9,100 stores worldwide, scrapped its previous guidance for its annual results, after plunging $57.2m (€46.2m) into the red during the three months to June 30.
