ISEQ makes positive start
There were mixed fortunes for ISEQ listed companies today as the Dublin market posted gains of 4.61 to 6740.83.
Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish continued to recover from last week's losses with gains of 17c and 8c to close at €13.56 and €11.20 respectively.
AIB and Irish Life & Permanent, however, were down. AIB shed 6c to close at €17.66, while Irish & Permanent was down 10c to €14.60.
Meanwhile, shares in the Kerry Group closed up 13c at €13.60 as it announced that Kerry Foods has bought UK chilled ready meals company Noon for £124m (€179m).
Operating from three production facilities located in the Great Western Industrial Estate in south-west London, Noon produces a range of Indian, Oriental, Thai and other Asian and international cuisine ready meals, snacks and accompaniments, principally for major UK multiple retailers.
Other big movers were Jurys, up 15c to €17.26, and FBD, up 28c to €30.58.
