ISEQ slides in early trading

The ISEQ has fallen 30.89 points this morning to stand at 6,750.71.

Banking shares have fared badly today. Allied Irish Bank shares have slipped 8c to €17.83 while Bank of Ireland shares fell 13c to €13.76.

Shares in Anglo Irish Bank have slipped 11c to €10.94. Irish Life & Permanent shares have fallen 14c to €15.

Elsewhere shares in Jurys Doyle Group have fallen 25c to €15.50 today. The Group confirmed it has sold its landmark site of almost five acres in Dublin city for €260m. It has entered an agreement to sell the site to property developer Sean Dunne.

Pharmaceutical group Elan has dropped 10c to €6.55 in trading today after reporting increased second quarter losses.

Building materials giant CRH has fallen 7c today to €23.30.

The most traded shares today are AIB, Kerry, Bank of Ireland, Ryanair and Anglo Irish Bank.
