Ladbrokes takes over rival in £76m deal
Ladbrokes was today neck-and-neck with William Hill as the UK’s biggest bookmaker after buying 141 family-run betting shops.
The deal for Jack Brown increases its presence in Wales five-fold to 156 outlets and will bring a windfall of £76m (€110.6m) for the sellers, which include members of the Brown family who have run the business since 1927.
