Car parts retailer Halfords encouraged by sales lift

Car parts and bicycle retailer Halfords kept sales heading in the right direction today by posting a 2.7% rise in like-for-like business.

The sales improvement, which came despite a “more challenging retail climate”, proved sufficient to send Halfords shares more than 2% higer.
