The company troubleshooter who rescued the Millennium Dome is bidding to take over collapsed car group MG Rover, it emerged today.

David James is in talks this weekend with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC), which holds the intellectual property rights to the cars, about a potential £60m (€87m) joint bid, according to reports.
