ISEQ slips 11.08 in early trading

The fears about oil which has hit world markets has brought the ISEQ down in the week's opening trading today, slipping 11.08 by mid-morning to stand at 6,470.64.

Banking shares are mixed today. Shares in Allied Irish Bank have surged today as the market reacts to weekend news that Eureko, which owns Friends First in Ireland, has tabled a €500m offer for AIB's life operation, Ark Life.

Bank of Ireland shares have edged 2c higher to €13.10. Anglo Irish Bank shares have slipped 3c to €9.95 today.

Irish Life & Permanent shares have climbed 15c to €14.45.

Elsewhere CRH has slipped 15c to €21.55. FBD shares have climbed 35c to €25.60.

The most traded shares today are AIB, Bank of Ireland, INM, CRH and Grafton.
