Agriculture subsidy cuts will be considered
Luxembourg Prime Minister Jean-Claude Juncker today said cuts to agricultural handouts will be on the table at this week’s European Union summit talks.
Such cuts are strongly opposed by France. Juncker, whose country holds the EU presidency, said “no budget heading … will escape cuts”.
There will “have to be reductions” on agricultural subsidies, Juncker told the European Parliament’s economic and monetary affairs committee ahead of a two-day summit which begins tomorrow.
