€2bn development planned for Bray

A consortium of Irish businessmen and builders is reportedly planning to seek permission for a €2bn commercial and residential development in Bray, Co Wicklow.

Reports this morning said the consortium was hoping to build commercial, residential, leisure and retail units on the 62-acre former Industrial Yarns and Bray Golf Club sites.

The development would reportedly include a cinema, a hotel, a school, creches, a day-centre for the elderly and a 17-acre public park with a future GAA and educational facility.

This morning's reports said it would also include new footbridges over the River Dargle, connecting Bray's main street with the local DART station, as well as landscaping the riverside walk and flood-protection works.
