3 appoints Stephen Pilkington

Video mobile network, 3, has announced the appointment of Stephen Pilkington as commercial director of its operation in the Republic of Ireland.

The appointment has been made in advance of 3's launch to Irish consumers later this year.

Prior to working with 3, Mr Pilkington worked in venture capital in London and for Price Waterhouse in Dublin.

Originally from Dublin, Stephen is a graduate and postgraduate of UCD, and is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and the Institute of Taxation in Ireland.

3 Ireland is 100% owned by Hutchison Whampoa Group which also holds 3G licenses in Australia, Austria, Denmark, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Norway, Sweden and the UK.

In March 2005, 3 announced that it had over eight million customers worldwide.
