Schneider Electric today announced that its Drogheda plant, Thorsman Ireland Limited will close on a phased basis by January 2006.

Established in 1976, Thorsman employs 50 people. The company manufactures cable clips, wall plugs and installation materials, mainly for export to Scandinavia.

The decision to close the Drogheda plant is part of a worldwide restructuring programme by Schneider Electric.
