Lucey to take over IAWS chair in August

Food firm Irish Agricultural and Wholesale Society (IAWS) has appointed current non-executive director Denis Lucey as chairman designate of the group, with the appointment to take effect on August 31.

Mr Lucey succeeds Philip Lynch in the role and said today that he was pleased Mr Lynch would remain as a non-executive director of the company.

As the chief executive of IAWS Co-op, Lynch was the driving force behind its €100m investment in NTR Group, the public utilities and environmental infrastructure group. The co-op now has a 20.77%, making it NTR's second largest shareholder.
