Modernising Mothercare's profits up by 19%

Babycare retailer Mothercare was reaping the rewards of a drive to modernise the chain today as it revealed profits surged 19% last year.

The group, which is two thirds of the way through the overhaul, said shoppers were responding well to better product ranges, stores and customer service.
