Argos owner sells stake in South African group

Argos owner GUS has said it is selling its remaining 50% stake in South African home furnishings and electrical goods retailer Lewis Group.

Argos owner GUS has said it is selling its remaining 50% stake in South African home furnishings and electrical goods retailer Lewis Group.

The company says it will use the proceeds to reduce its debts.

Argos has nearly 600 stores in Ireland and Britain.
