AIB buoys ISEQ

Dublin’s ISEQ index was up 48.1 points at 6078.05 at 10.30am today, following a good opening for the financials.

AIB was the morning’s busiest share, and it saw a significant increase of 37c (2.3%) to €16.48.

Irish Life & Permanent was up 17c (1.3%) at €13.37.

Bank of Ireland made gains of 12c in the early part of the morning to €12.20, while Anglo Irish Bank was 8c in the black at €9.33.

Insurer FBD also had a healthy morning, up 30c (1.3%) at €22.80.

Elsewhere, construction group Grafton made 10c to sit at €8.82 mid-morning.
