ISEQ down on closing
The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed down 26.19 points to 5993.47 today.
Among the most traded stocks were those of drinks and snacks company C&C. The company, which yesterday released its first set of results after flotation, saw a 23c surge in share value to €3.52.
Food groups IAWS saw the same rise of 23c to close at €11.77.
Smaller rises in a number of other stocks were not enough to keep the ISEQ in positive territory, after some heavy-hitters lost ground.
In the financials, AIB was down 8c to €16.32. Anglo Irish Bank was down 13c to €9.43, while Bank of Ireland stayed level at €12.22.
Building materials group CRH was down 17c to €19.48.
