Lions Gate gives Hit a miss

The battle for control of Bob the Builder group Hit Entertainment became a one-horse race today when another potential suitor walked away from takeover talks.

US media giant Lions Gate Entertainment said it did not plan to make an offer after examining Hit’s books, leaving the way clear for private equity group Apax Partners’ planned £489m (€716.4m) takeover.
