The ISEQ has endured a tough start to the week's trading, falling 26.38 today to close at 5,945.68 this evening.

ISEQ endures tough start to week's trading

The ISEQ has endured a tough start to the week's trading, falling 26.38 today to close at 5,945.68 this evening.

Financial shares were mixed. Shares in Allied Irish Bank rose 9c to €16.26 but Bank of Ireland shares were down slightly, 2c less at €12.17.

Anglo Irish Bank, which has completed a share split, saw shares close at the new price of €9.45. Irish Life & Permanent shares climbed 5c to €13.50.

Construction shares fared worse, however. Shares in CRH fell 28c to €19.60 while Kingspan shares dropped 27c to €9.43.

The newly-established ISEQ Exchange Traded Fund slipped 10c today to €12.

Elsewhere bookmaker Paddy Power was one of the day's winners, climbing 15c to €14.30 today.

The most traded shares were CRH, AIB, Anglo Irish Bank, Bank of Ireland and Grafton.
