Ownership and ops at airport should be same - Grounded
New aviation lobby group Grounded Ireland has said it does not believe separating ownership and operation at Dublin Airport is the best solution.
Grounded said it could not see the benefit to the DAA of building a terminal and then leasing it out to a competing operator.
The group claimed as a preferable alternative to the DAA owning and operating both terminals, the operation of Terminal 2 by a competitor was acceptable, but in the long term - given new terminal capacity will need to be added within the next five to 10 years - the government should commit itself to ensuring that this was built and operated by a competitor.
