British retail group Littlewoods is to cut up to 3,200 jobs after announcing plans today for the closure of 126 of its Index catalogue-based outlets.

British retail group Littlewoods is to cut up to 3,200 jobs after announcing plans today for the closure of 126 of its Index catalogue-based outlets.

Littlewoods, which is owned by the Barclay brothers, said it would also sell the remaining 33 stores in the Index estate to Argos owner GUS.
